Frequently asked questions
How do the free trial and DrivePlay Pro work?
Your first 10 separate CarPlay connections are free, including the whole tenth session. After that session ends, continuing to use app features requires a one-time DrivePlay Pro purchase. Settings, purchase, restore and privacy/support remain available.
Open Settings › DrivePlay Pro to purchase. Apple shows the current local price before payment. No DrivePlay account is required; Pro does not include subscriptions or content from video platforms.
I bought Pro but features are still locked.
Make sure you are signed in to the Apple Account used for the purchase and have an internet connection. Open Settings › DrivePlay Pro › Restore purchases. Cancelled or pending purchases do not unlock Pro.
If the issue continues, see Apple's purchase restoration guidance or contact us. Do not send passwords or card details.
How do I request a refund?
For purchases billed by Apple, you can request a refund through Apple's Report a Problem page. Apple determines eligibility and the outcome; a refund is not guaranteed. Read Apple's refund guidance.
DrivePlay does not appear on the car display.
On your iPhone, go to Settings › General › CarPlay, choose your car and tap Customize. Add DrivePlay to the apps shown on the car display.
Video on CarPlay can vary with the car and the software of its head unit.
Video does not play.
Videos play after you give consent. Tap the Review consent button on the page, or open Settings › Welcome; read the notice on that screen and tap Accept and start.
The car display also asks for this consent on the iPhone; you cannot give it from the car display.
I signed in to a site, but my session ended.
How long a session stays open is decided by the site itself and its own terms. DrivePlay never asks for your site password and does not manage sessions; you always sign in on the site's own page.
After Delete all website data, you may need to sign in to sites again.
A site does not work properly in the app.
There is no guarantee that every site works inside DrivePlay; sites behave according to their own terms and technical choices. DrivePlay opens https addresses only.
You can write to us with the problem and the site's address.
How do I delete my history or website data?
Settings › Privacy › Clear history deletes visited web addresses and local video history/saved positions; your video files and favorites are kept. Delete all website data deletes sites' cookies, site storage and the icon cache; it does not delete video history.
To delete a single entry, long-press it in Library › History. To stop new history or video positions from being saved, turn off Settings › Playback Preferences › Save history; previous records are kept. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Where are the videos I imported kept?
The copy of a video you pick is kept only on your iPhone, in the app's own space, and is not included in device backups. The original file stays in Photos or Files.
To add a video, open Library › My Videos › Add video and choose Photos or Files. To delete the copy, long-press the video in that section and choose Remove from library; its saved position is also removed.
With Save history on, the position of a local video played on your phone is kept on your device so you can resume when you select it again. Importing prepares the video. When CarPlay is connected, choosing to play a video from Library transfers playback to the car display.
How do I open a video address?
Enter a safe https address in the search/address box on Home. A .m3u8, .mp4, .m4v or .mov path extension opens the video player; other addresses open in the browser.
For a stream without a file extension, use Library › My Videos › Add video › From a network address. You must have permission to play the source; support depends on its format and access conditions.
Safe use on the car display
If you are driving, only watch video while the car is parked. The app does not check whether the car is parked. Follow traffic rules and local law.
